These included the relaunching of the recently rebranded Friends of Kenya Community Development Foundation (FOKCDF) a 501c (3) non-profit organization in the United States.

The session was also attended by the FoKCDF President, Mr. Fred Cooper, and an Advisory board member Mr, Victor Mayeya Odwori who also seats on the Learn For Life Kenya Board of Directors. The forum focused on the various initiatives by KCDF, and Learn For Life Kenya lead programs. Followup sessions on June 14, 2019, at the Kenya Embassy Washington DC with the Kenyan Ambassador H.E. Robinson Njeru Githae and various non-profits in Beltsville, Maryland. These were part of the strategic partnership meetings held in the United States, highlighting the benefit of partnering with KCDF and FoKCDF in the Diaspora’s plight to support efforts back in Kenya.

KCDF has established over two decades of specific trailblazing new standards in philanthropy, capacity building, and grant-making effectively charting a new way for the business of beneficence on the African continent. KCDF was founded and registered in 1997 as a public foundation with a proven track record of over 22 years working with communities in Kenya. Leveraging by supporting communities to initiate and drive their development agenda. In addition to harnessing and growing their resources, as well as securing their fundamental rights and services from duty bearers.

FoKCDF was established in 2005 with the original Directors as Dr. Joyce Malombe, Mr. Fred Cooper, Senior Vice President at Toll Brothers Inc, who is also the current President of FoKCDF and Elchi Nowrojee a lawyer and US resident. Recent additions as Advisory board members to be confirmed on the board of Directors of FoKCDF include Carolyn Musyimi-Kamau in Boston, Irene Mugambi a lawyer in Texas and Victor Mayeya Odwori a Marketing and Public Relations consultant based in Maryland. The aim is to facilitate smoother connections with a broader audience in the Diaspora incognizant of the larger Kenyan community, many of whom are committed to the idea of contributing to Kenya’s development.
We as Learn For Life Kenya look forward to the opportunity to discuss further and developing a long term partnership in alleviating the plight of the youth and the Kenyan community at large. End
